My Tech Essentials: The Tech Tools I Use Daily
Staying on top of things in today’s fast-paced world is much easier with the right tools. Over time, I’ve discovered some fantastic resources that keep me organized and productive. In this article, I’m sharing my favorites with you!
1. My Virtual Office: The Google Workspace Tools (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, & Meet)
Google offers an amazing collection of productivity tools, and here are the ones I use every single day:
- Calendar: Every year, I start with a fresh schedule on Google Calendar. When creating my schedule, I outline the major goals and daily tasks I need to carry out to achieve those goals. The Google Calendar is my daily task manager, reminding me of everything from work meetings to personal errands.
- Gmail: Staying on top of my inbox is crucial as a professional. Gmail helps me ensure I never miss an important email.
- Docs: This is my go-to writing platform. I’m sure you already know this article was first drafted on Docs.
- Sheets: This is where I have templates for tracking my goals, finances, activities, and work stuff. It’s a fantastic tool for reports and data analysis too.
- Meet: Working in tech involves having different types of virtual calls, from work check-ins to webinars, to classes; this is my go-to tool for that.
2. Networking In Tech with Slack
This is my community hub! Slack keeps me updated on everything from work announcements to the latest tech news from my tech communities, schools, and more. It’s like having a virtual tech hub at your fingertips.
3. Building Professional Connections with LinkedIn
No professional’s toolbox is complete without LinkedIn. It’s my digital resume, and I love actively engaging with the amazing professionals I connect with there. There’s always something new to learn!
4. Staying Informed with Twitter (X)
This is my go-to micro-blogging platform. I like how I can learn about news from anywhere in the world on Twitter. I feel that Twitter users know a lot about many things, and I can relate to some of the things they share.
5. Connecting with my Circle via WhatsApp
It’s all about staying in touch with my loved ones on WhatsApp. It’s the perfect platform to check in and see how everyone’s doing.
6. YouTube, My Digital TV
Hands down, my favorite video platform ever! I’ve learned a ton from the vast library of videos on YouTube. It’s also my music haven — yeah, I know there are music streaming services out there, but YouTube just does it for me!
7. Managing My Projects with Notion
Now, this is my best Project management tool; I like how I can use it to document tasks and create a lot of other amazing templates.
These might seem like basic tools, but they’ve been incredible for boosting my productivity and keeping me on top of my game. And the best part? Most of them are completely free! I highly recommend checking them out, as using them is one underrated productivity hack.
